Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, once fondly recalled what happened when the Black Sabbath frontman picked up a woman and brought her back to the couple’s hotel room

Music icon Ozzy Osbourne and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, were incredibly loyal to each other throughout their more than four decades of marriage, but things weren’t always perfect.

Sharon has admitted in the past that it was not love at first sight when she and her husband met in 1970, but they developed a deep bond into the 1980s and went on to welcome their three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. In 2002, Kelly and Jack joined the couple on four seasons of their reality TV show The Osbournes, and were catapulted into international fame.

Sharon and Ozzy have endured a lot over the years, but they’ve maintained their honesty about their highs and lows, including Ozzy’s infidelity. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on July 4, 2025 — just weeks before Ozzy died on July 22 at age 76.

With their long marriage back in the spotlight following Ozzy’s death, a clip of the pair’s brutally candid interview on The Howard Stern Show has resurfaced.

During the interview, they revealed what happened when the Black Sabbath frontman picked up a woman and brought her back to the couple’s hotel room. Ozzy said he was so drunk he forgot his wife was inside, and she gave him a shock once she realized what he’d done.

“Why not bring other women into the bed? Did you ever consider that?” Stern questioned the couple. Ozzy replied, “No, no, no,” before his wife said, “I’m way way too jealous.” “You would die,” Stern interjected. “Yeah,” the manager said before adding, “No they would.”

“One time I was in Japan with her and I forgot I took my wife to Japan and I went out and got sauced up, I took a chick back to my room, she knocked the chick out and smashed me over the head with a picture frame,” Ozzy recalled.

“Is that true?” Stern asked Sharon, who replied, “It’s absolutely true,” before Ozzy continued, “I forgot I took my wife – how dumb can I be? I flew like 11 hours to Japan…” as Stern continued for him, “And you were so high, you were going to cheat on Sharon.”

“He always does when he goes to Japan,” Sharon added. “He cheats?” Stern asked. “Yeah,” Sharon replied. The host said, “He does and the gets you crazy.” Ozzy told his wife, “That’s not fair,” prompting her to reconsider her comment, saying, “Alright, not every time.”

Stern asked, “You alright with that Sharon, that Ozzy cheats occasionally?” Ozzy replied, “No.” Sharon clarified that if it was a relationship, where Ozzy remembered the woman’s name, she’d have a problem. Ozzy pointed out that it took him years to remember her name.

“He was calling me by his first wife’s name for the first five years we were together,” Sharon divulged. Ozzy was first married to Thelma Riley from 1971 to 1982, the year he married Sharon. Ozzy joked that he was calling her “Tharon,” a combination of both of his wives’ names.

In 2013, rumors began circulating that Ozzy had relapsed and the pair were preparing to divorce. The singer was quick to set the record straight, writing on Facebook, “For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an a—— to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.”

Additionally, Ozzy clarified that he and Sharon were not divorcing. “I’m just trying to be a better person,” he continued. “I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends, and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period … and my fans. God Bless, Ozzy.”

Three years after Ozzy denied divorce rumors, the couple briefly split. At the time, a source told People that Sharon believed Ozzy was having an affair. In an interview with Good Morning America, he described the separation as a “bump in the road” and said, “I’m back on track again.”

Ozzy went on to add that even though the pair’s marriage had been through a lot, they were still committed to each other. “Some days good, some days terrible, some days you just drift apart for a while,” he said. “But you get back on the horse, you know.”

That same day, Sharon also publicly forgave her husband. She said on The Talk, “I forgive. It’s going to take a long time to trust, but we’ve been together 36 years, 34 of marriage … I just can’t think of my life without him.”

Five months after splitting, the couple officially reconciled in September 2016. While speaking to The Sun, Sharon said she “adores Ozzy.”

“I am trying to learn – I try to not let things faze me. Before I was like [she makes a loud roar], ‘How dare they this and how dare they that,’” she continued. “I was riled up at the slightest thing and then you realize as you get older that all these things aren’t really important.”

Sharon and Ozzy decided to renew their wedding vows in Las Vegas on Mother’s Day in 2017 and in July 2022, Sharon wrote on Instagram, “Over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband & wife, grandparents and soulmates. Always at each other’s side. I love you Ozzy.”
