Karoline Leavitt shared a gushing Father’s Day post for her much older husband, Nicholas Riccio, who is three decades her senior.

Over the weekend, the White House press secretary took to her Instagram Story sharing a series of snaps celebrating the father of her child. In one snap, Nicholas, 59, was pictured wearing a suit on what appeared to be a private jet as he puckered he bent down to give his little one a kiss. She simply captioned the post: “best dada in the [world emoji]” followed by a blue heart emoji.

In a follow-up post, the 27-year-old spokeswoman shared another picture of her husband expertly lifting their child in his right hand and lighting votive candles with the left. In the Catholic religion, the act of lighting a votive candle is a way to symbolize prayers and to represent the “flame of faith” in one’s heart.

Along with the photo, Karoline captioned the post: “the rock of our little family. showing Niko the way [red heart emoji].”

Karoline tied the knot with her 57-year-old husband back in January with Nicholas, just days before President Donald Trump’s second inauguration. Karoline – who is the youngest White House press secretary in history – held her wedding at the Wentworth By the Sea Country Club in Rye, New Hampshire.

Karoline previously shared that she and her real estate husband met when she was running for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022. At the time, Karoline won the Republican nomination but later lost the seat to Democrat Chris Pappas.

Speaking on their relationship and scrutiny surrounding their 32-year age gap, Karoline told People: “I mean it’s a very atypical love story but he’s incredible. He’s the father of my child and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for.”

She continued: “And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life… I say, ‘I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since,’ but God bless him because he’s fully on board.”

The couple previously welcomed their son, Niko, in July 2024. Sharing the exciting milestone on Instagram, Karoline wrote: “It’s true when they say there’s nothing comparable to the love you feel for your child. My heart has grown bigger than I ever imagined possible. Babies are the ultimate blessing and I’m bursting with gratitude for our beautiful, happy, healthy boy.”

Three days after Karoline gave birth to their child, Trump was shot during an assassination attempt in Butler County, Pennsylvania. After the incident, Karoline ended her maternity leave early and swiftly returned to work.
