Loose Women star Denise Welch shared some exciting family news during Wednesday’s live show
Loose Women star Denise Welch said she was “hugely excited” as she celebrated a family milestone on Wednesday (June 25).
During today’s episode of the beloved ITV chat show, Denise joined her colleagues Kaye Adams, Kelly Brook and Janet Street-Porter in dissecting the day’s biggest stories from the UK and the wider globe.
They addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, celebrity weddings, and spoke to Vogue model Ellie Goldstein.
Talk soon turned to this year’s Glastonbury as thousands of people descend on Worthy Farm ahead of this weekend’s festival.
The gates were opened today by festival founder Michael Eavis and his daughter, Emily, reports Belfast Live.

On Loose Women, Denise radiated pride as her son Matty Healy’s band, The 1975, is set to headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday (June 27) evening.
“For those who don’t know, my son is the lead singer of The 1975 and they are headlining Glastonbury on Friday,” she said, spurring the audience into a rapturous applause.
“Obviously, I’m an incredibly proud mum cause you’ve got to remember the band have been together for 23 years. They started in our garage as 12 and 13 year old boys. So, some of the songs they’ll be playing, Matty was writing at 15 and 16. I still don’t know the lyrics, but anyway.”
Denise went on to share her excitement at seeing her son perform, but was nervous about other aspects of the festival.
“I’m hugely excited, but I’m not a festival person. I have never, over the years, seen all those hordes going into Glastonbury and think, ‘Please, it’s so fun’,” she explained.
“It’s so stressful. And although I am going, cause obviously I’ve insisted I am going as VIP as I can.”
Denise concluded: “I’m excited and I’m not camping, and Matthew you heard… limos.”
The 1975 are set to deliver the first headline performance on Friday night, with Canadian rock legend Neil Young taking to the stage on Saturday and American pop prodigy Olivia Rodrigo closing the weekend on Sunday.
An array of other artists will perform throughout the week, including Charli XCX, Raye, Gracie Abrams, and Noah Kahan.
A host of presenters will bring coverage of the festival to the BBC, including Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Jo Whiley, Huw Stephens and Jack Saunders.
