Karoline Leavitt, Press Secretary, ditched her iconic cross necklace during her latest briefing at the White House after Daily Show maestro Jon Stewart ribbed her with a biting jest earlier in the week.

For her press briefing on June 3, Tuesday, Karoline stood out, clad in a navy blue blazer adorned with chic gold buttons, paired with a matching skirt and sharp black heels; noticeably absent was her usual cross necklace after Stewart’s audacious quip. During a recent episode of his show, the veteran host, aged 62, made a quip, “By the way, I think that the more she [Karoline] lies, the bigger her cross gets. Is that possible? It’s like some sort of weird Pinocchio cross.”

Further discussing Karoline’s tenure in Trump’s team, Stewart remarked, “The only one who’s going to come out of there unscathed is Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Because I don’t think that she has any principals in there left to die!”

Nevertheless, Stewart eased up on Karoline, arguing against targeting the messenger, expressing, “I’m not even upset with this lady. Because just rolling with the punches is clearly the only strategy for happiness when you’re working for Trump,” reports the Mirror US.

Stewart continued his critique of President Donald Trump, remarking, “Trump’s very open secret has always been: He doesn’t believe in or care about any policy issue at all. He wants attention, he wants his ego stroked, and he wants money. He wants f—wads and f—wads of money.”

However, Stewart isn’t the only one eyeing Karoline’s oversized cross necklaces during her recent public outings. A Reddit user commented, “Dear Ms. Leavitt, since your party clearly doesn’t espouse the teachings of Jesus, it would probably be best to not wear that cross around your neck during briefings. You’d look less hypocritical.”

Another chimed in with, “She’s wearing a fashion statement, it’s not a symbol of her beliefs.” A bold voice added, “The Trump administration is as far from the teachings of Jesus as you can get. She and all the other fake Christians in the Republican party are a bunch of f—-g hypocrites.”

And yet another simply stated, “It’s all about the image.” While some skeptics have cast doubt on Karoline’s religious beliefs, the 27-year-old has been vocal about her faith’s significance in her life.

Speaking to CBN News, she declared, “My faith is incredibly important to me, I would argue, now more than ever, being in a role that is very demanding and at times controversial, and there’s a lot of public pressure and discussion online about who you are and your family.”

“And you know, it could be difficult for someone who doesn’t have faith but with faith, all things are possible.”
