Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt had four scathing words about NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani during a press conference at the White House earlier today.
As Leavitt was asked if US President Donald Trump is planning to try and work with Mamdani, she said, he’s “quite literally a communist.” Despite that, Leavitt assured the press that Trump is “working with Democrats across the country, Democrat governors, and he said he’ll work with people on the far left. He works with Republicans. He works with people in the middle. He wants to do what’s right for America.”
Mamdani has been attacked by Trump numerous times and accused of being a ‘communist’ – a far cry from ‘democratic socialism,’ which is what Mamdani, who comes from an affluent background, identifies as.

“But surely someone who holds these values and is quite literally a communist and condemns every value that makes this country great: common sense, law and order, low taxes, working hard and earning your keep in this country,” Leavitt continued.
“He’s against all of that, and I think the president would find it difficult to work with someone like that if he is elected. I’m sure you’ll hear more from the president on that, but we’ll have to see, hopefully the voters of New York City choose wisely,” the statement concluded.
Leavitt was also asked about a rumor that Trump was planning to ‘deport’ Mamdani, saying, “Well, I’ll let the President speak to that. I have not seen those claims, but surely, if they are true, it’s something that should be investigated.”

The criticism from the Trump administration came after Mamdani doubled down on efforts not to condemn the phrase ‘Globalize the Intifada,’ a phrase often chanted by American protestors.
Zohran Mamdani avoided the question once again during an interview with NBC News on Sunday. Instead he said that it is not his job to “police language.”
Mamdani has insisted that ‘Intifada’ means uprising in Arabic, and while that translation is correct, Intifada, in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, refers to two suicide bombing wars, known as the First Intifada, which lasted from 1987 to 1991, and the Second Intifada, from 2000 to approximately 2005.
The violence of the First Intifada resulted in almost 200 Israeli casualties and almost 2,000 Palestinian casualties, while during the Second Intifada, 1,137 Israelis were killed in attacks, while another 8,341 Israelis were wounded as suicide bombers targeted civilians at cafés, restaurants, hotels, wedding ceremonies, shopping malls, nightclubs, and bus stations.
The modern call to ‘globalize the Intifada’ has long been regarded as a call to violence against Jewish people around the world.

Appearing on NBC News‘ “Meet the Press,” this weekend, Welker repeatedly pressed Mamdani, to explicitly condemn the phrase. His only response, “That’s not language that I use.”
“The language that I use and the language that I will continue to use to lead the city is that which speaks clearly to my intent, which is an intent grounded in a belief in universal human rights,” he said, though he admitted “it’s language I understand there are concerns about.”
Not all Republicans have issues with Mamdani’s political stances. MAGA Firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for quotes about ‘Jewish space lasers,’ had commendations of Democrat Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign.
The Georgia congresswoman, who also equated mask mandates and vaccine requirements to the persecution of Jews during the Holocaust, first responded with a photoshopped picture of the Statue of Liberty wearing a veil.
According to Green, Mamdani’s apparent victory against the front-runner, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, was due to his “talking directly to the people,” during an interview on Steve Bannon’s podcast War Room on Real America’s Voice. According to her, Mamdani “was talking to the people about his solutions, focus on their issues, and focused on their problems.”
