At a recent White House press briefing, Trump aide and GOP spokesperson Karoline Leavitt subtly yet sharply reacted to CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins’ inquiry, an exchange that didn’t go unnoticed by those tuning in.

Flanked by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Leavitt was seen shaking her head and even let out a brief chuckle as Collins grilled Gabbard with a multipart question regarding Russian meddling in the 2016 election and Gabbard’s reasons for making intelligence public. While Gabbard addressed the query head-on, it was Leavitt’s response that captured the audience’s attention.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins posed a double-barreled question to Gabbard: “I have two questions for Director Gabbard on this. Dr. Gabbard, you referenced the past intelligence reports, including the 2017 one that was signed and noted by every Republican.”

Collins continued, highlighting the report’s findings: “They said in the intelligence report they did not find any evidence of Russian collusion but what they did find, however, is very troubling and they found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling.”

Directing her first question at Gabbard, Collins asked, “One, are you saying [Marco Rubio]’s wrong in that statement that he made then?” during which Leavitt was observed emphatically shaking her head, reports the Mirror US.

Collins followed up with another pointed question: “And secondly, what would you say to people who believe that you are only releasing these documents now to improve your standing with the president after he said that your intelligence assessments were wrong?” adding further tension to the briefing.

After the final question, Leavitt and Gabbard couldn’t help but laugh, with Leavitt even scoffing. Their reactions were quite revealing as Collins wrapped up her questioning.

Gabbard clarified her stance, saying, “Well, first I want to correct something that you stated. Citing the intelligence committee’s reports as being one and the same. I think you said the intelligence community.

“The Senate Intelligence Committee has a very different function than the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The evidence and the intelligence that has been declassified and released is irrefutable,” she elaborated.

Leavitt, who previously worked in the White House and now serves as a communications advisor for MAGA personalities, remained silent during the back-and-forth, yet her facial expressions spoke volumes.

Social media pundits picked up on the moment, interpreting it as a clear sign of disdain towards Collins, who often faces backlash from conservative commentators for her approach to reporting on Trump-related inquiries.

The online crowd weighed in on Leavitt’s nonverbal cues, with one user commenting on X, “Uh oh, Barbie is mad!”.

“Usually, when people get mad, it means a nerve was hit,” another observed.

Someone else remarked, “Leavitt absolutely hates the truth – but she loves lies.

“So that’s a yes,” chimed in another commenter, while someone added, “Karoline gets mad a lot!”.

One more user pointed out, “Pretty predictable that they get pissed off every time a reporter asks them a question where, were they in court, they’d plead the 5th.”

While Kaitlan Collins remained silent on the incident, political pundits saw the press briefing as a stark display of friction between conservative officials and mainstream media figures. The briefing was centered around newly declassified documents related to the 2016 election.

A statement from the White House reveals that Gabbard’s office believes these documents indicate that “Obama and his top aides conspired to subvert President Trump’s 2016 election victory and undermine the Democratic will of the American people.”

During the conference, Gabbard stated, “In exchange for supporting Secretary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency, they had significant increases in financing for the state department.”

She added, “They also had documents that showed the patronage of the state department to state department employees who would support Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign.”

Gabbard further revealed, “There were high-level DNC emails that detailed evidence of Hilary’s ‘psycho-emotional problems, fits of anger, aggression, cheerfulness’ and that Secretary Clinton was allegedly on a regimen of heavy tranquilizers.”
