Jesse Watters expected another typical political debate — what he got was a firestorm. A sharp-tongued Democrat guest dismantled MAGA’s obsession with Obama on-air, accusing Watters of fueling a narrative stuck in the past. Then, in a rare twist of candor, she turned her fury on fellow Democrats for obsessing over Trump, leaving the studio in awkward silence.

Fox News host Jesse Watters is reeling after getting slammed by a former adviser to Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) on his own show on Thursday.

Appearing on Jesse Watters Primetime, Tezlyn Figaro — a political consultant and journalist who has worked for years as an adviser to Sanders — discussed the faults of the Democratic party and its misguided energy when it comes to dealing with President Donald Trump.

During a conversation with Watters about the state of the Democratic National Committee and its reported financial struggles, she slammed the party’s obsession with Trump — which she said is distracting it from moving forward.

That prompted Watters to slam Obama, whom he accused of doing exactly that and setting the Democrats back. But Figaro wasn’t having it.

“I don’t think that just talking about Trump 24 hours a day, seven days a week is going to move people forward,” Figaro said. Watters countered, “Barack Obama can’t get Trump’s name out of his mouth. Everywhere he goes, it’s Trump, Trump, Trump. What’s wrong with Barack?”

Figaro’s response was scathing: “Well, guess what? The same thing is wrong with Trump. They keep talking about Barack Obama. They talked about Barack, Barack, Barack — or how you’ve been talking about him the last 30 minutes.”

“What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, Jessie. One minute, you say Barack Obama is too classy, and the next minute, y’all say Rep. [Jasmine] Crocket is too over-the-top,” Figaro continued. “So, which one do you want? Should they meet you where you are?”

“You want to get ugly, let’s get ugly,” she added as Watters could be seen chuckling. “I agree, the 2008 and 2012 strategies don’t work anymore. You need to fight fire with fire, and it appears Rep. Jasmine Crocket, who I know you folks love talking about her, she seems to be meeting Trump right where he’s at with the same type of rhetoric.”

Watters appeared stunned but amused and then joked that Crockett is invited on his show “any day.” He then asked Figaro to pass on the invitation for him.

Before Figaro’s segment, Watters spent the majority of his show criticizing Obama for remaining on the political sidelines. He described the former president as a “typical ‘I’m scared of my wife’ kind of guy.”
