Fox News abruptly paused their coverage of the Bryan Kohberger trial to give the floor to Karoline Leavitt and her special guest, who faced several bold questions from reporters.

On Wednesday, July 23, Fox News had been broadcasting the murder trial of four college students from Idaho, who were brutally murdered by the 30-year-old in November of 2022. In the midst of a moving testimony, the network had abruptly shifted gears to a press briefing that included an appearance from the women President Donald Trump called the “hottest person in the room” at a White House dinner.

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard made an unexpected appearance to clear up a few allegations, specifically focusing on the ones pertaining to the 2016 presidential election and Russia’s influence in the results. It comes amid alarming fears over the president’s health due to an injury being spotted.

At first, Fox News anchor John Roberts was originally discussing one of the many moving testimonies made during the sentencing trial, saying, “I want to play this moment for what I thought was the most extraordinary impact statement in the victim impact statements.”

He then abruptly redirected the audience’s attention as he announced, “Karoline Leavitt is coming up to the podium. Let’s just jump to the podium and we will get back.”

After the White House press secretary had briefly spoken about the murder trial, she welcomed Tulsi Gabbard up to the podium to face a room of reporters who didn’t hold back. Before she faced some difficult questions, she revealed what she had uncovered in documents she had released targeting the Obama administration.

Gabbard then started, “In exchange for supporting Secretary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency, they had significant increases in financing for the state department.

“They also had documents that showed the patronage of the state department to state department employees who would support Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

She continued, “There were high-level DNC emails that detailed evidence of Hilary’s ‘pyscho emotional problems, fits of anger, aggression, cheerfulness’ and that Secretary Clinton was allegedly on a regimen of heavy tranquilizers.”

“Then CIA director Brendan and the intelligence community characterized intelligence and relied dubious substandard sources to create a false narrative that Putin developed a ‘clear preference for Trump.’”

Gabbard added, “They misled lawmakers by referencing the debunked dossier to us as ‘plans and intentions,’” suggesting the dossier had intelligence value when he knew it was discredited.

“The intelligence community excluded significant intelligence and ignored or selectively quoted intelligence which directly contradicted the assessment’s key findings on Putin’s alleged support for Trump, including this intelligence reporting.

“That it would’ve exposed their claim is implausible if not ridiculous,” she concluded. “The assessment omitted reliably sourced information such as how some intelligence officials were planning for candidate Hillary Clinton’s victory.”

After her statement, journalists’ hands shot up to ask follow up questions, with a couple coming from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.

Collins started, “I have two questions for Director Gabbard on this. Dr Gabbard you referenced the past intelligence reports, including 2017 one that was signed and noted by every Republican. They said in the intelligence report they did not find any evidence of Russian collusion but they did find however is very troubling and they found irrefutable evidence of Russian meddling. One, are you saying he’s [Marco Rubio] wrong in that statement that he made then?”

She continued to question, “And secondly, what would you say to people who believe that you are only releasing these documents now to improve your standing with the president after he said that your intelligence assessments were wrong?

Gabbard answered, “Well, first I want to correct something that you stated. Citing the intelligence committee’s reports as being one and the same. I think you said the intelligence community. The senate intelligence committee has a very different function than the office of the Director of National Intelligence. The evidence and the intelligence that has been declassified and released is irrefutable.”
