Fox Business host Larry Kudlow kicked off his Wednesday program by dismissing rumors that Senator John Kennedy had a stroke on-air the previous day.

The peculiar incident occurred after a clip went viral showing Kennedy, 73, halting abruptly mid-sentence during a Tuesday interview, leading viewers and critics to speculate if the seasoned senator had a health scare. “Before we dig into Tulsi Gabbard and so forth, I want to clear the air about yesterday,” Kudlow announced at the start of his show.

Kudlow clarified that the actual problem was a technical glitch. “What happened was your IFB, your wire, broke down and you had a lot of noise in your ear and had to stop talking,” he detailed. “Now, if there’s something different, you tell us.”

Kennedy humorously retorted.

“Well yesterday I was on your show. I enjoyed it,” he began.

“I was just yapping away and all of a sudden my earpiece blew up. It sounded like a 747 was taking off, man, my ears are still ringing,” he recounted.

He added, “I just stopped talking and didn’t start again until I could hear you. I don’t know, some of the rags up here are saying I had a brain freeze live on TV, or a stroke, or caught an STD live on television or something.”

Kennedy brushed off the rumors, attributing them to political games.

“Not everybody in Washington likes me,” he joked.

“So when they see an opportunity to start a rumor, they do. But anyway, I’m OK. I’m here today. I’m full of piss and vinegar, and I’ll be glad to answer your questions,” he added.

The peculiar moment occurred during Kudlow’s Tuesday show, where Kennedy halted mid-sentence while delivering an interview from DC.

“I’m sure Jesus loves him, but everybody else thinks…” was all he managed before the broadcast abruptly switched away as Kennedy went quiet.

Fox News later attributed the sudden interruption to “technical difficulties.”

Curious fans flocked to X, the platform that took over from Twitter, to speculate on the incident.

One observer claimed, “I know an absence seizure when I see one,”.

While another suggested, “Probably just a busted earpiece,” noting, “He looked like he was trying to listen to someone speaking in his ear.”
